Founded in 2015 by Ryan Forbes, Copper Shed has been building unique everyday carry gear for the discerning carry enthusiast. Ryan, along with his wife Kerry and their three young boys, have been living the American dream by selling their hand-built gear.
Copper Shed began in a small shed in the back of Ryan’s home. It was here, Ryan created his first piece of gear, a custom copper dog tag for family. Since the beginning, his finishing work has been at the heart of every piece of Copper Shed gear. For that reason, no two pieces of Copper Shed gear are the same.
Copper Shed started as a hobby and a side hustle, but it is now a full-time job for Ryan. He now makes bottle openers, keychains, beads, fidgets, and prybars. In addition to these carry items, he makes desktop pen holders, wall clocks, and many other items.
Ryan’s wife Kerry is a vital part of the business as well. Her contributions to the business include shipping items, managing the books, and helping with various stages of product development.
In addition to building all of the gear locally, Ryan also sources all of the raw materials and services that he requires to operate his business locally when available and always within the U.S. Most of his current gear is still hand-cut, hand-finished, and handmade by Ryan himself, but some pieces are now cut on his in-house CNC machines with Ryan handling all of the finish work on these pieces.
Copper Shed is a family business, and it has been blessed to have an amazing community of followers that act as an extension of that family. It’s why we do what we do, and we’re humbled by the support and encouragement of our community members. We hope that you enjoy our gear, and we welcome you to be a part of our family.
Sincerely,
The Forbes
